Praters Completes the Florida Gators's Portable Volleyball Floor

July 18, 2006

Praters Portable Division has recently finished renovating a beautiful, new Portable Volleyball Court for the University of Florida Gators. After Florida's 2006 NCAA Basketball Title, the University wanted a completely new design for both their Basketball and Volleyball Floors. With many companies bidding to do the National Champs floors, Praters experience, dedication, warranty and service was the clear choice.
We received the Volleyball floor in June of 2006. After 2 months of design, sanding, painting, finishing and elbow grease, this stunning floor will be on its way back to Florida for its unveiling. We are very pleased to have been a part of Florida's new look and take great pride in providing the Gators a spectacular new portable floor that will last the University for years to come.

Praters Completes the Portable Basketball Floor for the University of Florida Gators

Praters is proud to introduce the new home court of the 2006 NCAA Champion Florida Gators
After their victory at the 2006 NCAA Championship, the University of Florida decided to purchase the Final Four portable floor on which they won the national title. Only one company had the experience, knowledge and skilled experts necessary to turn this Championship Floor into Florida's new Home Court: Praters Portable Division.
Glory Road productions needed two portable floors for use in the Disney movie "Glory Road", and Praters Portable Division was happy to accommodate them. The two Connor Quicklock II floors were sanded, sealed and shipped to New Orleans, LA. Once there, Mark Frainie of Praters Design Division worked with Glory Road Productions to develop a process by which the two floors could be used to represent 12 different floors from the 1960's. This was accomplished by spraying both floors with a thin lacquer paint/finish mixture to give the floors an aged look, and using vinyl LOGOS that could be easily changed to represent the various venues need for the movie. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by James Garner, "Glory Road" is the story of the all black Texas Western basketball team that went to the NCAA Championship in 1966, smashing the color barrier and changing the sport forever. The movie is currently in theatres. Pictured is the representation of East Texas State University's floor in Praters Portable Facility following the production of the movie. The floor will be resanded for use as a warm up floor for the 2005 NAIA Tournament.
